Nesbitt Realty prepares written leases for property owners with rentals in Northern Virginia as a part of our management services service.
Without a doubt, you’re probably already aware that all of our leases are in writing. The lease Nesbitt Realty uses was written by staff attorneys at the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors. Nesbitt Realty & Management just changes details like the names of the parties, the address and so forth.
Leases ordinarily have a one-year term. Longer leases are rarely approved and only after discussions with the property owner. With the landlord’s approval—especially during slower rental periods—Nesbitt Realty and Management makes leases for less than one year. Most usually property owners accept longer or shorter leases to have the lease expire during a more active rental period. Nesbitt will once in a while work to place a tenant on a month-to-month or short-term lease to accommodate sale of the end unit townhouse by the owner, a lessee’s pending departure, or moving the investment property into a more active rental period.
